A strong company culture is crucial. It’s what keeps a team united and motivated, especially during tough times. But building and maintaining this resilience is no small feat. Did you notice?
You probably already know that a positive culture boosts employee engagement, retention, and productivity. Companies like SAP and Unilever have shown that a strong culture helps them thrive, even in challenging periods.
So what are some great ingredients for you to build a strong, resilient company culture?
* Clear Vision and Values: If not done yet, start here! Define and communicate your company mission and company values. Ensure everyone is aligned.
* Employee Empowerment: Assuming you have a (virtual) team, create an environment where people feel valued and empowered to contribute towards that vision, respecting these values. Hint: trust is a great one here 😉
* Open Communication: Promote transparency and open dialogue at all levels. If you have several layers, a great way to do this is yearly surveys requesting candid feedback managed by an external company. You would want feedback on sections like ‘my manager’, ‘my team’, ‘myleadership’, ‘mycompany’
* Continuous Learning: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning to adapt to changes. One of the favorite approaches: don’t ask for permission, beg for forgiveness if things go wrong, but tell me what you learnt (either way).
If this is greenfield for you techniques like workshops, team-building activities, and feedback mechanisms are invaluable.
